Substitute teachers at Giving Tree School are responsible for: 

• Assisting, as directed by teachers, to maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment

• Maintaining required certifications

• Supporting the teaching team to maintain classroom organization

• Ensuring health, safety, and well-being of all children in the program

• Supporting adherence to health, safety, and quality standards

• Responding to internal communications in a timely manner

• Performing other tasks as needed to maintain program quality

• Meeting the physical requirements necessary for childcare responsibilities

• Working in the classroom at least once per month

Substitute teachers at Giving Tree must meet the following qualifications:

• Must meet Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) requirements for Assistant Teacher: pass EEC’s background and fingerprint check, be at least 18 years of age, and have a high school diploma or GED

• Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and early childhood curriculum models

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Pay: $20/hour
